Aasmund Nordstoga

Aasmund Nordstoga

Aasmund Nordstoga is a songwriter and farmer. He is also widely used as a program leader / presenter.
He has been nominated for the Spelemannspris twice, the first for the debut album Ein visefugg, and the second for the album 12 dagar i jola.

Aasmund picks up his repertoire at home. Old shows are refreshed with new arrangements or new melody, with good help from close music friends. The poems often have a good story, or a good dose of life wisdom. The latest solo album, Guten, contains in its entirety lyrics by the poet Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, where one can say that Aasmund, with very good help from brother Odd, has breathed new life into some of Vinje's best poems.

At a concert with Aasmund, the audience will usually be served both seriously and spoiledly. Unpretentious and loose snippet, but with a serious approach to the material, may be a good characteristic of a concert.

In 2015, Aasmund released a Christmas album in team with Gunnhild Sundli. Sæle jolekveld is a record where the Christmas songs have received folk music. The album was very well received. In 2016, it is the third year in a row that Gunnhild and Aasmund tour with Sæle Christmas Eve.

Aasmund comes to Farsund with his namesake Åsmund Reistad on guitar.
