Bergen Mandolin Band

The liveliest music by Bergen Mandolinband comes to play cheerful songs such as "In hell's flames", "Finished with Hans" and "Around and around the bar for us" The band of author Gaute M. Sortland and fiddle player Olav Christer Rossebø mixes music as Rossebø has found on his travels and given Sortland the task of creating new texts. In this way, the music becomes a mixture of the best from Cajunland and the worst from the west. Dark, mournful and distinctive.

The band also has a long relationship with both Norwegian and American folk music and has previously released four critically acclaimed albums on Grappa. The melodies that are not traditional melodies have been composed by Sortland himself.

The band celebrates twenty active years in 2021, and this autumn they released the album "Koss havna me her" to rave reviews. They come to Farsund and try to answer just that.
