Gabba2 - cred. Jonas Eriksen

Gabba (N)

Last year's fiddler prize winners in the folk music class are finally coming to Farsund! Here you can expect an authentic music experience full of youthful energy!

Gabba, which means "white reindeer", is a Sami band that seamlessly mixes traditional joik with influences from Norwegian folk music, Americana, and other types of world music. Their music is a reflection of Sami lifestyle, and each song takes the listener to the vast landscapes of the Arctic. In 2023 they won the Spellemann prize in the folk music category for the album "Gabba". Joike master John André Eira from Mazé, Guovdageaidnu, brings his ancestral heritage and original compositions into Gabba's music, and together they create a soundscape that is both captivating and moving. The unique and innovative interaction in the band is due to the fact that the musicians live together and play in several bands together (Svarte Svaner, Tæladylju).
