Ingunn Bjørgo Band (N)
Ingunn Bjørgo is a Norwegian composer and award-winning musician on diatonic and chromatic accordions. She is inspired by Scandinavian and Irish folk music, as well as Dutch balfolk. Her music has reached large audiences, both in Norway and abroad. Recent examples are Allsang på grensen (2020), concert in Asker Kulturhus (2023) and the Rudolstadt festival in Germany (2023).
She has released six albums with her own music: Grenseland with the Ingunn Bjørgo Band – Nybrott, Tettbygd strøk and Full Oppladding with AskerLadden – Skapdøl med bysko, Ingunn Bjørgo – duck Huskelappen with Bjørgo&Reistad. Her compositions have also been used in film and TV productions, and by other artists such as Helene Bøksle, Trygve Skaug and Gaute Ormåsen. Ingunn's music has not only reached beyond national borders, but also garnered a reputation beyond the folk music genre. According to Dagbladet's review of Huskelappen in 2015, even die-hard accordion haters will be convinced that there is a lot in this instrument, as long as it is "used with the elegance" of Ingunn Bjørgo.
Ingunn delivers great musical experiences - whether it's at small local events, solemn concert stages or fiery festivals. She always performs with self-composed songs - and preferably with selected musicians on the team. She likes to share an atmospheric bundle of her catchy and melodious songs together with her band, with Sindre Tronrud on harding fiddle and Åsmund Reistad on guitar and mandolin.
