Johanne Flottorp

"It Sounds Enchanting Anyway"
(DN)

Johanne Flottorp from Åmli gave the solo album, Johanne Flottorp, in the autumn of 2018, with hay from the home areas and the surrounding area. Her playing style is energetic and powerful. She works with the raw and sharp in the expression where it is needed and combines with the hurt and care where it is better. Flottorp has developed a personal playing style and her own voice in the haymaking game, and this is the basis of everything she does. At the same time, she takes care in the best possible way of what her sources and teachers have worked out in the mowing forms she uses.

In 2017, Johanne Flottorp graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music. There she concentrated on the game from Tovdal, Setesdal and Vest-Telemark. Shortly after graduation, she started preparing for the record recording, and in April the following year she was in Ormøy church with technician and producer Niels Jørgen Røine and recorded her favorite tunes.

Apart from being a soloist on the harding fiddle, Johanne Flottorp and the fiddle are strongly present in the growing country / American community in the capital. She plays in bands The Northern Belle in addition to the folk music trio Raabygg.
