Opening concert at Varbak // People meet PEOPLE

We invite you to a grand and different opening at this year's festival and use Farsund's town mountain, Varbak.
 
As an audience, you are invited to walk through the beautiful hiking area on Varbak, while you get to experience song, dance, music, art in the forest, along the path, in open spaces and by the barbecue pans.
 
We will guide you safely through the area and give you a whole new total experience of traditional music and dance accompanied by exciting light and good sound.
 
The performance is the first part of the commissioned work Linjer by Vegar Vårdal. Together with Farsund Folk Festival, he has the musical responsibility.
Farsund Folk Festival has the idea, project and artistic responsibility.

Participating musicians are:

Vegar Vårdal, Åsmund Reistad, Birger Mistereggen, Ulf – Arne Johannessen, Sarah – Jane Summers & Juhani Silvola, Lars Jakob Rudjord and Ingvild Koksvik, Lisa Haugeland & Hermann W. Gautefall, Torhild Larsen Nygård & Ådne Svalastog, local dancers, etc.

Ang opening concert at Varbak

Entrance to the performance will be from Markeveien. All adults who have children must register the child's name at the entrance. We will organize the queue and the actual walk through Varbak in groups of up to 20 people. Please stick to your group throughout the performance. The performance begins at 20.30 and we will let people into pools at about 3-5 minute intervals

Our volunteers will guide you further in the performance and everyone will focus on taking care of your infection control. Hand disinfection will be available. It is extremely important that you stick to the set path, and go in and out of the area in Markeveien. Parking at Farsund primary and lower secondary school. There will be parking guards present.

Varbak

Varbak is Farsund's city mountain. Here there is a hiking area with nice hiking trails, great outdoor furniture and barbecue areas. It is located on "Farsund's roof" and is visible from almost the entire city, and you have a spectacular view of the city and the entrance.
