The Langan Band (UK)

WHERE: Festival pub and The Langan Band at Backes Bu on Saturday

Scottish The Langan Band has kept going with its "lawless" and virtuosic style for fifteen years, and is current with the album "Plight O' Sheep", which came out earlier this year.

The three musicians started the band with a mutual respect for traditional tunes, but quickly discovered that they had a penchant for breaking with tradition and replacing it with innovation. The result was an expression that both provokes and impresses, which, among other things, led to them receiving the prestigious Danny Kyle Award during Celtic Connections.

“Fallen angels pursuing demons … a compelling take-no-prisoners style” – The Scotsman

The trio draws inspiration from many places, where traditional Scottish folk music, Eastern European gypsy music, American old-time and progressive jazz are most prominent. And it is when all the instruments blend together with the splendor of voices from all three that a cacophony of joy spreads in the music. Welcome to an energy bomb of a trio!
