PEOPLE on a walk - Gunnar Stubseid: Tribute to Hank Williams

You still get intimate, great concerts and a nice meeting place, but both a little here and a little there around the whole municipality.

On 17 September this year, it was 100 years since one of the biggest artists in the country&western genre was born. Hank Williams passed away at just 29 years old. Despite his short life, he became one of the greatest style creators in this genre. Hank Williams has been popular in Agder ever since the 50s, and Gunnar Stubseid, who is best known as the harding fiddle player, grew up with these melodies and started singing Hank Williams as early as 13-14 years old. He has taken up this repertoire again now in the anniversary year, and together with good friends he will present a selection of the most famous Hank Williams melodies, which he connects with the life story of this legendary singer from Alabama. Earlier this year, the band played to full houses both in Rysstad and in Vennesla, and will continue to Hovden after the concert in Vanse.
