Bendik Smedåsgjelten Qvam is a young and exciting musician, who has particularly impressed with his bugle playing. During the landscape play at Røros in 2017, he won the class for other older folk music instruments, and the following year he received the Fure prize. Qvam is from Fåset in Tynset in Nord-Østerdalen. Despite his outstanding playing of the French horn, his main instrument is the guitar. As a folk music performer, Qvam has been particularly concerned with the haymaking traditions in the Northern Østerdalen.
