After the concert, there will be Farsund Folk Festival's cultural quiz with great prizes (Quizmaster: Espen Gabrielsen) and a release party with vinyl at the facility, so enjoy the whole Friday evening!

In the instrumental music for "Kjempe-Jo", he explores impulses from southern Norwegian folk music, and weaves them into his own musical world inspired by Nordic jazz and modern classical music. And the music is also inspired by a rather personal story:

In the 19th century, a mythical figure lived in Tovdal in Agder: A legendary man, known among people as Kjempe-Jo. He was a fighter no one could defeat, but also an excellent dancer. He was heavy, walked on his hands hard and constantly, and once he killed a bear with his bare hands. The man's name was Jon Olsen (1816-1883), and he was Lars Jakob Rudjord's great-great-grandfather.

Together with two of the best musicians on the Norwegian folk and jazz scene, he offers melodic, thoughtful, driving and extroverted songs with accompanying storytelling, and invites the audience into his very own musical world where old meets new.
