Linjer Varbak

Lines: school performance

25 August 2023 10:00–11:30

Attention: the morning performance is reserved for students from the municipality's schools. See separate arrangement for the evening performance, which is open to the public.

Musical, picturesque, mysterious and majestic: magical walking on Varbak! We light the entire area, you can hear the music from between the trees or behind the knolls, we have musicians, sound installations and art experiences both here and there along the path. You've never experienced Varbak like this before!

Originally "Lines" was a commissioned piece for the Farsund Folk Festival written by Vegar Vårdal. A limited number of the public got to experience the premiere in 2020, but this year we can finally invite you to a concert tour without corona restrictions. We have invited a large number of performers to create a completely unique concert experience along the hiking trail around Farsund's city mountain, and you will experience an exciting and varied musical walk with a number of different experiences. In addition to professional musicians and folk dancers, local artists and students from the municipality's primary schools and the "Sea Monster" project from Farsund secondary school also take part.

Varbak

Varbak is Farsund's city mountain. Here there is a hiking area with nice hiking trails, great outdoor furniture and barbecue areas. It is located on "Farsund's roof" and is visible from almost the entire city, and you have a spectacular view of the city and the entrance.
